About the Author

Donald J. Leo is a professor in the mechanical engineering department of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is the Associate Director for one of the leading centers of study in this area, the Center for Intelligent Material Systems and Structures.

I used this book as textbook for the discipline of Smart Material at Mechanical Engineering course. It is very didactic, has a very nice way to introduce complex concepts, and the students liked it.
